Bocce
how to play bocce
-
Teams consist of UP TO 4 people on each team.
-
The way to score in Bocce is by getting as many balls as possible closer to the Palino than the other team.
-
The first team to get to 10 points wins.
Instructions:
-
Flip a coin to see who goes first and the winner will throw the Palino (white ball).
-
You must throw the ball into the court, past the two white lines on the side walls.
-
If the ball doesn't pass the white line marker OR is within 1 foot of the wall, the other team gets to throw the Palino.
-
The person that threw the Palino (Player 1) will then go ahead and throw their first ball. The goal is to get the ball as close to the Palino as possible.
-
The next person (Player 2) will go and then try to get their ball even closer to the Palino as possible.
-
If Player 2's ball is closer to the Palino than Player 1, Player 1 will then throw their next ball.
-
If Player 2's ball is NOT closer to the Palino than Player 1, then Player 2 will throw their balls until they are closer to the Palino.
-
If you can't tell whose ball is closer to the Palino, then you can use our measuring device available.
-
Once that is figured out, then you can continue the game.
-
If you're playing in teams of 4, then the next teammate will throw the next 2 balls.
Scoring
After each turn, the team that is closest to the Palino is awarded points. The amount of points is based upon how many balls they have closer to the palino than the other team. The first to 10 points wins!
